Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

TeamJara Skilled People Services Limited
Financial Year: 2025–2026

Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by Skilled People Services Limited, trading as TeamJara, to understand and address the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain.

TeamJara is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of its business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any form.

About Our Business

TeamJara is the trading name of Skilled People Services Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales. We are a UK-based managed business support provider, delivering operational and administrative support functions to growing businesses through a team-based, embedded delivery model.

Our registered office is at Hentease House, 13 Hanbury Road, Bristol, England, BS8 4PN.

Our Structure and Supply Chain

TeamJara operates with a core UK-based delivery team, supported by wider operational capacity where required. Our supply chain is limited in scope and consists primarily of:

  • Employment and contractor relationships with individual delivery staff
  • A small number of technology and software providers used in the delivery of our services
  • Professional services providers including legal, accountancy, and insurance

Given the nature of our business — knowledge-based, professional services delivered within client systems — we consider the inherent risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be low. We nonetheless maintain policies and practices to ensure this risk remains identified and managed.

Policies

TeamJara maintains the following policies relevant to modern slavery and ethical employment:

  • Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy: sets out our zero-tolerance position and the responsibilities of all staff in identifying and reporting concerns
  • Ethical Recruitment Policy: governs how TeamJara recruits staff, ensuring all recruitment is conducted lawfully, transparently, and without exploitation
  • Whistleblowing Policy: provides a confidential mechanism for staff and contractors to raise concerns about unethical or unlawful conduct, including suspected modern slavery
  • Equal Opportunities Policy: ensures all individuals are treated with dignity and respect throughout their engagement with TeamJara

All policies are reviewed periodically and are available to staff as part of onboarding documentation.

Recruitment and Employment Practices

TeamJara recruits all staff through a documented ethical recruitment process. Our practices include:

  • Right-to-work checks completed before any engagement begins, in accordance with UK law
  • Verification of identity and employment eligibility for all staff and contractors
  • Transparent communication of terms, conditions, and remuneration before engagement commences
  • No use of recruitment agencies or intermediaries that cannot demonstrate compliance with ethical recruitment standards

TeamJara does not charge recruitment fees to candidates or workers at any stage of the recruitment process. All staff are paid at or above the National Living Wage as a minimum.

Due Diligence

TeamJara takes the following steps to identify and address modern slavery risk within our operations and supply chain:

  • Supplier and contractor onboarding includes a review of ethical employment practices where relevant to the nature of the relationship
  • Contracts with suppliers and contractors include provisions requiring compliance with applicable law, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015
  • Staff are made aware of modern slavery risks and their responsibility to report concerns through training provided during onboarding
  • Any concerns raised by staff, clients, or third parties are investigated promptly and escalated to senior management

Risk Assessment

We assess the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chain as low, based on the following factors:

  • Our operations are UK-based and consist of professional, knowledge-based services
  • Our workforce is directly employed or engaged under transparent contractual arrangements
  • Our supply chain is small, well-known to us, and consists primarily of professional services and technology providers
  • We do not operate in sectors or geographies considered high risk for modern slavery

We continue to monitor this assessment and will update our practices if our operations, supply chain, or risk profile change.

Training and Awareness

All TeamJara staff receive training on modern slavery awareness as part of their onboarding. This training covers:

  • What modern slavery and human trafficking are and how they may present in a professional services context
  • The responsibility of all staff to report concerns
  • How to raise a concern through TeamJara's whistleblowing process

Awareness of modern slavery risks is maintained as part of our ongoing governance framework.

Reporting Concerns

Any person — whether a staff member, contractor, client, or member of the public — who has concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking in connection with TeamJara or its supply chain is encouraged to report those concerns.

Concerns can be raised:

  • Internally, through TeamJara's whistleblowing process
  • Externally, by contacting the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700 or at modernslaveryhelpline.org
  • By contacting the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) or the National Crime Agency (NCA) where appropriate

All concerns will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and treated with appropriate confidentiality.

Continuous Improvement

TeamJara is committed to continuously improving its approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risk. In the coming year, we intend to:

  • Review and strengthen supplier due diligence processes
  • Maintain and update staff training on modern slavery awareness
  • Review this statement annually to reflect any changes in our operations, supply chain, or applicable guidance
